About Karida

Karida grew up as a "studio/competition kid", and has become an accomplished professional dancer and dance educator. Karida has been a Radio City Rockette, a member of the acclaimed Tap Dance Company Dorrance Dance, a dancer for Cirque du Soleil, and has performed on stages around the world. She brought these experiences to aspiring professionals as a Tap Dance instructor at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, and as a professor teaching Tap Dance in the cutting-edge BFA Commercial Dance program at Pace University.

Karida infuses all of this experience and perspective into her innovative and effective teaching approaches in the local dance studio environment, where she has helped countless students to discover their lifelong love for Tap Dance, and helped studios to strengthen and grow their studio’s Tap Dance programming.

“It is very hard to find a tap teacher, and it is a challenge to keep the kids interested since there is so much detail involved in tap.

Karida’s approach in technique, rhythms and the dancers’ individual performance, along with her creativity, brought impressive dances to the stage. Karida’s tap dances were clean, creative and the dancers loved performing them!”

Alexia H.S.,
Studio Owner, Ballet Teacher & former New York City Ballet Principal
