"If you are a tap teacher, this program is an absolute must! I have been teaching for 30 years and a studio owner for 20. Karida has inspired and rejuvenated my entire tap program. If you are a new teacher or a seasoned pro, you will benefit from her innovative approach to teaching all levels. Her personal attention and live support are what set her apart from other instructional programs. It is worth every penny and every minute spent. I will definitely be signing up the other teachers at my studio. I consider it an investment in the future of my tap program."
I’m going to tell you honestly from my experience…
There is a lack of quality Tap Dance training in the local studio setting…
and that is hurting Tap class enrollments & studio business.
It starts with the Tap Teacher.
Do any of these struggles sounds familiar?
If you’re a Studio Owner and/or Tap Teacher who is looking to bring more EXCELLENCE & GROWTH to your studio’s Tap Dance program,
This Tap Teacher Training Program is for you!
"I'm always ONLINE looking for new ideas to keep my Tap classes fresh."
You already know how valuable teacher training can be.
You know that a Tap Teacher who is passionate, better prepared, more strategic and highly skilled will get results, and lead to more confident & capable students, enthusiasm, and yes...enrollments!
Studios that already have thriving Tap programs have that passionate & skilled Tap Teacher in the studio “making it happen” week in, week out.
That’s where the “rubber meets the road”...that’s the starting place for the GROWTH of your studio’s Tap Dance program. It begins with the teacher.
Knowing that the success of the Dance Studio relies SOOOOO much on the dance teacher who’s in that studio with the students, week in and week out,
don’t you want that Tap Teacher to feel confident, prepared, and supported to deliver consistent excellence that your students and families can get excited about?**
This Online Tap Teacher Training Program was designed to do just that.
-------------------------------------------------------
Sure, I could've offered training in the traditional way. Let's meet in a fun city, Tap Dance, have some laughs & good times! But think about it:
Where do we learn & retain the most?
In an intensive training?
Or in an ongoing weekly training format?
We know the answer, and it can be summed up in two words:
Muscle. Memory.
OUR MUSCLE MEMORY & HABITS AS TEACHERS ARE TRULY WHAT MAKE OR BREAK OUR TAP PROGRAMS,
and I want to be sure my program develops the most effective habits in you as a teacher.
To that end, I believe that online, ongoing training will give you the best chance to implement and retain all the training info, while giving you support along the way...
all to get awesome results for your students & your studio.
Are You Making this HUUUUUGE Mistake in Your Tap Classes?
Btw - if you’re relying on online searches, “tricks” and “new steps”, to improve your studio’s Tap program...
you’re focusing on the wrong thing.
Visuals matter, yes. I’m “big” on performance and artistry...anyone who knows me will tell you that.
But when it comes to Tap Dance and Tap Technique...music comes first.
If you don’t have effective curriculum/methods to teach timing, rhythm and musicality...your Tap program is built on quicksand...
...there will NEVER be enough steps “out there” to fill that void.
But if you’re like many teachers, like this one who says she doesn’t feel her training in rhythm/musicality isn’t strong enough, you can be hurting your Tap program’s chances for growth:
----------------------------------
"My daughter had a good foundation in tap, focusing on tricks and choreo was fun, but Karida brought an emphasis on musicality and rhythm that made my daughter’s love for tap dance increase exponentially!
The skills she taught made all aspects of tapping more fun for my daughter. She’s much more confident in her tapping as well as doing extremely well in competitions.
When she competes or gets noticed in convention classes, the instructors are constantly saying 'You have an excellent teacher!' " -Brook, Dance Parent
After my own struggles feeling like an “OK” Tap teacher that was producing “decent” (but not GREAT) results, I was inspired by an amazing ballet teacher who showed me that being a fierce dancer wasn’t enough. (We’ve all been to conventions and seen the difference between good dancers and good teachers, right? Ahem.) This particular ballet teacher was an amazing dancer who decided to invest in teacher training so that he could become an amazing dance educator. And even though I didn’t have any access to Tap Teacher training, I took time over the next 15+ years to refine own teaching approaches using all of my professional & studio experiences... And I was able to build an approach that brought CONSISTENCY, ENTHUSIASM & GROWTH to studio Tap programs. That’s what I’m sharing inside my Online Tap Teacher Training Program. Why? Because...yes we’re now living in a world where "instant results" are expected, and there’s a lot less patience for trial and error than there used to be... So what can we do? Give up? Of course not, we're dancers. We don't quit. We can step up our game as Tap Teachers and still reach these students! Many studios are already doing that, and have thriving Tap Dance programs as a result… Wanna join them?
This program approaches Tap Teacher Training from 3 vantage points:
1. The Tap Teacher as a Tap Dancer and Demonstrator
2. The Tap Teacher as the Instructor & Communicator
3. The Tap Teacher as the Educator & Coach
Enhancing skills on all three fronts is critical to Teacher Training.
The other valuable component of this course is its duration.
Rather than throwing a ton of material at you at once…
the course will spread out content into manageable weekly lessons, spread over the course of 10 weeks (plus a “Week 0” for assessment and planning).
Each week, the Tap Teacher will receive new information & tutorials to gradually implement in class, while receiving regular support from me via weekly video conference calls, and via the support of fellow Tap Teachers in the exclusive Facebook Group.
The lessons and tutorials will focus on music/rhythm/timing development, fundamental Tap technique, and development of effective instruction and education strategies for the Tap Teacher.
The scheduling of the weekly coaching calls is being determined by those who join the program. I’ll make sure that everyone gets a coaching call that fits into their schedule.
YOU GET:
I believe in integrity, honesty, commitment and joy!
I’m looking to work with Tap Teachers who are committed and are as receptive to learning as we want our dance students to be.
If that’s you, I want you to know that I’m 100% committed to your growth and success as a Tap Teacher.
I’ll do whatever I can to make this training work for you. I’ll add lessons, I’ll add support, whatever it takes.
I stand by my work.
I want YOU and YOUR students to feel
- more confidence
- more “aha” moments”
- more eyes lighting up when it “clicks”
- more enthusiasm
Here’s how my refund policy works:
1) You must complete the full 10 week course.
2) You need to be present on 80% of the weekly coaching calls
3) You need to submit any and all homework
This is the only way to measure the effectiveness of the training. You have to be “in it to win it!”
And if you do all this, and the training doesn’t deliver, then
1) send me an email,
2) you and I will do a videoconference as an “exit interview” to talk it out
3) 100% of your money back. Done.
"Karida is an outstanding tap teacher and educator, as a faculty member at Pace University in our Commercial Dance Program Karida’s work with the students was of the highest caliber. ...Her range is immense, not only is she still working in the rhythm and concert tap arena but she also knows both sides and is versed in theatrical tap as well, she really represents the best of both “tap worlds.”
- Lauren Gaul, Pace University Commercial Dance
I've taught tap for a long time, but I was never formally taught how to teach, beyond what I had absorbed from my own teachers. Karida's class has been phenomenal. She is warm, helpful, and caring, which makes it fun. But even more, she has such a defined and rigorous approach to improving musicality in students.
I already had many students who have a good ear, and I've always been pleased with how they progress, but I've always struggled on how to methodically improve rhythmic performance in the dancers for whom that's more of a struggle.
I finally feel like I have an intentional approach, and feel like my own skills have improved so much already. I recommend her class wholeheartedly!!
-- Jessica, Tap Teacher Training Participant
Karida is one of the most wonderful Tap Dancers I know. Her vast education -
from NYU, to professional training in NYC, to then going to working some of the top jobs in the field -
makes Karida an invaluable resource for education, for training, for growth.
I highly recommend her online training program.
Anyone who gets the opportunity to learn from Karida will soar and reach their ultimate potential.
Karida brings professional knowledge from both training and practice in the field.
She is the consummate professional and will take you to the next level.
- Chloe Arnold, Emmy Nominee & Founder of the Syncopated Ladies

Does this Training apply to multiple levels of Tap classes?
Yes!
Exercises are given in a format that is easily applied to multiple levels, from beginner to advanced levels. There are also special strategies included in the program that will support Mixed level classes to ensure that all students feel comfortable and challenged.
Each week, I've included adaptations and games especially for your "littles/minis"! Teachers of these sweet kids will gain fantastic knowledge and skills that can help our youngest students become Tap enthusiasts as they grow with your studio. You'll be AMAZED what your "littles" can learn by applying these techniques!
When are the weekly coaching calls?
Those who are joining the program will be asked to give their preferred days/times for weekly coaching. I’ll be sure that everyone gets a weekly coaching session that works for them and their busy schedule.
What about Holidays?
We’ll work around holidays as needed, no worries!
What’s the overall Time commitment?
The first two weeks have the most intensive work, to get us “off the ground”.
The tutorial videos are typically 12 minutes or less, and I’m giving out a manageable amount each week.
The bulk of the “homework” is done inside your classroom, so there’s not too much extra time spent there.
Other exercises are designed for you to listen to and practice while you’re driving, loading the dishwasher, etc.
At the end of the day...the effort is up to you. If more time is needed, I’m sure that those who are “super committed” can find a few extra minutes here & there to invest in this training. And just think, you’ll save time because you won’t be out searching the internet for new ideas...it’s all right here, handed to you each week.
Is there a discount for studios that want multiple teachers to take the training?
YES! Email me at [email protected] and let’s talk details!
It’s a brilliant idea to have your different Tap teachers get onto the same page about the instruction they’re delivering in your Tap classes, and I want to support that!
What’s the enrollment deadline?
Enrollment will stay open, but the price will increase after this "early bird" discount ends February 17th!
